Universal smartphone charger, EU reaches agreement

The EU has reached agreement on the universal charger. The negotiators of the Council and the European Parliament agreed on the directive on the single charger for mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices (in practice the revision of the directive on radio equipment). The Imco commission communicates this via social media. Having a standard USB port for all devices, users will not be forced to buy a new charger for each new device purchased, as is the case now, which multiplies the amount of electronic waste that is produced.
