The South is facing heavy rainfall and floods

Meteorologists warn that in Spain and the south of France, residents must prepare for a more pronounced total precipitation and strong winds. “Some of the strongest wind storms are most likely to occur somewhere in the south of France, Spain or Portugal this winter,” they point out. At the same time, rainfall can lead to rising river levels and subsequent floods. They are also projected to affect the Balkans and Italy.

The exception will be in this respect for the people of Portugal and southwestern Spain, where the weather will be more balanced. Growers such as olives, oranges and grapes can especially enjoy this.

However, the temperature in the south of Europe will be good. They should remain at average or even above average, especially in some parts of Italy, Greece and the Balkans.

Do we have a hard winter ahead of us?

The interior of Eastern Europe, ie also the area where Slovakia belongs, must be prepared for cold air, unlike in the south. From central Ukraine to the north to Latvia and Estonia and to the west to Slovakia and Poland, it is also important to point out that temperatures will be below their usual average.

In the event that the cold air together with the precipitation advancing on our territory from the Balkans, we can also count on a rich amount of snow.

However, it will look different in the west and north of Europe, where the weather is forecast to be drier. This applies to the east of France, Germany, Sweden and Norway. However, there is no need to worry about a great drought in this part of Europe either, as there will be less precipitation here, but it will definitely occur.
