Without a COVID passport, people are not even allowed to go to work. In the event of a deterioration of the situation, the launch of an “Italian scenario” – Startitup – is being considered

In the event of a further deterioration of the situation with the spread of coronavirus, the Czech government will consider tightening measures. One of the possibilities is that only people with a COVID passport should go to work – ie a certificate of vaccination or overcoming the covid, or with a negative test, which they would have to pay for themselves.

Tightening the rules

After Monday’s meeting of the Central Crisis Staff, this was announced by its chairman, the outgoing Minister of the Interior Jan Hamáček, informed the Novinky.cz portal.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is preparing an interpretation of the relevant section of the Labor Code for this purpose, “Hamáček said.

At the beginning of November, they plan for comprehensive testing in schools in districts with a weekly incidence of more than 300 cases per 100,000 population. According to current data, this will apply to eight districts in the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions.

Hamáček also informed that despite the court’s decision to cancel the obligation to fill in the arrival form when returning to the Czech Republic, this obligation will be maintained. “The Ministry of Health will complete the justification,” he said.

More than double the case

In the Czech Republic, approximately 1,820 new cases of coronavirus infection were added on Sunday, which is a thousand more than a week ago. This was stated for Czech Radio on Monday by the director of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics Ladislav Dušek.

The number of hospitalized people is also growing, but there is no significant increase in those in severe condition – there are less than 140 of them in the whole country.

From Monday, stricter measures began to apply in the Czech Republic. Once again, respirators should be worn in all indoor areas, including workplaces. They must be worn in the workplace by all people who do not keep a distance of one and a half meters from colleagues.

Further changes in the measures will come from 1 November. Restaurant staff will be required to check guests for proof of infectivity. It won’t have to be right at the entrance, just by the time the guests settle down.
