The Italian coach will lead the third World Cup racer, but he is well aware that this time it will be different. “The project cannot be the same as I had with Tina Maze and Petra Vlhová, because Meta does not have the same starting point. Our goal is also consistency, to be among the best throughout the season, not just in one race. Meta is currently out of the top 30 and must return to the top of the rankings first. Only then will we see what she is capable of. ”

The ambition to make Magovat’s winner of the race is definitely not lacking in Magoni, but he himself admits that it will not succeed from day to day. “Yes, I want to win every race. However, this cannot always be achieved. Hard work must be behind this ambition. I always try to do the best for my athlete. Slovenia also has a strong team at the moment, but all the girls have to keep a cool head.

When creating a champion, it is not only his technique that is important. This is the overall picture of the athlete and it can lead to top results. It is important how he prepares for the season, how mentally mature he is, how he regenerates after the race. Last but not least, what is on the plate is important. ”

Although he will probably meet his last champion more and more regularly on the slopes, he only remained in contact with Maze, who ended her career in 2017. “She is currently with her (Vlhovou – editor’s note) we do not communicate. But I’m in contact with Tina Maze. We talk about everything but skiing. ”
