“I consider the situation in hospitals to be stable and under control,” Lengvarsky said today. There are currently 122 people at UPV, which the head of the department considers a balanced situation. According to the current situation, hospitals are occupied by almost 20 percent. The Prešov and Žilina regions are the worst off. Some hospitals, such as Stará Ľubovňa, are already at their peaks in the second wave.

Nevertheless, the situation is better and the so-called white medicine is still practiced in almost all hospitals. If the situation worsens, the directors may decide. “Hospital directors have the right to organize the activities in such a way as to provide white medicine and, of course, to adapt the bed stock to the current situation in the district as regards beds for coronavirus patients.” said Lengvarský, stating that he has not registered any problems yet.

Problems with registration for the third dose, the system did not work 100%

Today, vaccination with a third dose was to be launched for people over the age of 55, but also for patients with chronic diseases or people at risk. However, there are problems and the registration will start later. Lengvarský is scheduled to meet tomorrow with NCZI Director Pavel Capek.

According to the minister, the system did not work 100%. “I’m not going to let go of any registration system that I’m not 100% sure will work.” said the head of the department, adding that the system should be launched on Wednesday. “There are some technical things that need to be fine-tuned,” added to the registration address.

Free tests will not be widely introduced

As for charging for antigen tests, for example when visiting a doctor, they are currently under the direction of a hospital. “Hospitals are instructed to do this on their own. As the number of patients is relatively large somewhere and there are regions where there are low vaccinations, so there is a problem to ensure this organizationally, but those tests are already performed by rescue staff directly in the ambulance, also free of charge, ” Lengvarský responded.

Hospitals also perform rapid PCR tests on patients who need to be hospitalized. However, free testing will not be widely implemented. Vaccination is low in Slovakia, especially in the districts in the north of Slovakia, from Monday to the black phase. However, the COVID machine will not change yet, despite the reservations of especially vaccinated people.

“It simply came to our notice then. So far, the result has been that it is not good to change the rules while driving. The situation is still under control. We knew that the situation would get worse in those districts. “ said Lengvarský. “If necessary, the COVID machine can be changed,” he added. For the time being, however, it is set according to the development of the ministry and experts in the given districts.

The resort does not want to introduce a state of emergency, lockdown or restrictions, which is why the rules are stricter in some districts. “We’ll see in two months,” answered the question of whether the measures will be tightened during Christmas.
