The former police chief Gašpar found a DVD with a database of investigated cases – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA During a search of the family house of the former police president Tibor Gašpar, the police discovered a DVD on which there were databases of investigated cases.

As stated by the news portal Aktuality.sk, the accused brought him from his previous position when he headed the Office for the Fight against Corruption.

According to the portal, Tibor Gašpar explained that it was a standard backup of data to which he had access as the director of the office.

In this connection, the specialized criminal court pointed out that the accused kept the carrier even after the end of his service in the Police Force.

“Even if it was necessary to back up some data from his work (business) computer, there is no reasonable explanation for why it was necessary to keep this backed up data in the accused’s home environment,” the court said in the decision to extend the accused’s detention.

Aktuality.sk reminds that Tibor Gašpar left the police leadership in April 2018 in the period after the murders of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová and was detained at the beginning of November 2020.

“This means that even two and a half years after leaving the police, he had police databases and sensitive data with him,” the portal states. .
