Covid today China, infections are on the rise: Beijing marathon postponed

Covid in China, due to the increase in the number of infections related to the Delta variant, the country has postponed the Beijing marathon scheduled for October 31 to a date to be defined. The marathon has been held annually since 1981 and represents one of the major sporting events in the country. This year around 30,000 people were expected to participate. The organizers explained that the decision is linked to the desire “to prevent the risk of an extension of the epidemic and protect the health and safety of participants, staff and residents”.
