There are 39,962 new coronavirus infections in the UK today and another 72 deaths are recorded. This is what emerges from the data released today by the British authorities. Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of deaths has stood at 139,533. There are currently 8,238 patients in hospital with Covid-19.
