Ionity continues to develop, and the charging giant has the means to fulfill its ambitions. The new arrival of funds thanks to one of its partners further strengthens it.
The Ionity charging specialist will see its valuation exceed two billion euros thanks to new fundraising of 750 million euros.
Of this amount, half a billion euros will come from Blackrock, an investment giant. This company would then take a 22% stake in Ionity. Audi, Porsche, Daimler, BMW, Ford, Hyundai and Kia… the current owners of Ionity are also going to invest. The brands will contribute a total of 250 million euros to finance their joint venture.
Thanks to these additional 750 million euros, the valuation of Ionity will reach 2.25 billion euros. In practice, these funds will be largely intended for the development of the network. Ionity was no longer in hiding and had already declared its desire to see new investors arrive.
Shell and Renault were among the potential investors. The fuel giant hasn’t made up its mind, so that he himself builds his network of terminals. As for Renault, it could be part of the next fundraising, already in preparation.
