WASHINGTON. The White House said on Friday it was postponing the release of documents related to the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy. The AFP agency informed about it on Saturday.

American president Joe Biden he said in a statement that full disclosure of the remaining files related to the assassination of Kennedy would be “delayed” until December 15 next year.

Why will Kennedy’s documents be released later

According to the White House, the later publication of these documents will come because the national archivist needs more time to check the documents and edit them. According to the White House, this process was slowed down by a pandemic coronavirus.

Biden also said that the delay in publishing these files was also “necessary to protect against identifiable damage to military defense, intelligence operations … or foreign relations management”. According to Biden, this protection is currently more important than the “public interest in immediate publication” of these documents.

Former US President Donald Trump in 2018, he began publishing some secret files relating to the assassination of Kennedy. However, they delayed the publication of the other files at the time for reasons of national security.
