The champion is not cured – Debrief and NOTES of the players (LOSC 1-1 SB29) – Maxifoot

As part of the 11th day of Ligue 1, Lille was held in check by Brest (1-1) this Saturday. A disappointing result for the northerner club which despite its territorial domination has bordered the correctional many times in the second period.

Weah has everything wrong with Brest.

Lille is still not healed. While he had the opportunity to get closer to the podium, the reigning French champion was held in check on his lawn by Brest (1-1), this Saturday, during the 11th day of Ligue 1.

Despite their overall dominance, the Mastiffs were too ineffective in the last move and could even have gotten out without a single point without the Breton awkwardness in the second half.

The Brestois were dangerous from entering on a free kick from Faivre deflected in extremis by Grbic. Anxious to circulate the ball, the visitors offered a loose game but had to adapt to a lawn in a deplorable summer. It took a gesture out of draw to unlock this match. And he came to Lille. On a nice opening from Fonte, David colds two opponents with a dribble behind the supporting leg to deceive Bizot with a perfect shot low to the ground (1-0, 19th).

Freed after this goal, the Mastiffs went close to the break twice on a fleeting strike from Yilmaz and a duel lost by Weah against Bizot. Net wasted opportunities that LOSC paid cash for. On another free kick from Faivre, Xeka inadvertently deviated the ball and took Grbic against it (1-1, 32nd). An equalizer which did not prevent Lille from continuing its forward march, but realism had not yet returned before the break.

A mess of opportunities

Back from the locker room, Lille accentuated its domination, but as too often since the start of the season, it was much too sterile. Opposite, the Bretons were much more direct and narrowly missed the break on a strike from Faivre card by Grbic. The reverse was also valid since Weah, despite a caviar from Yilmaz, missed the frame on his recovery point blank. A rat that frustrated Jocelyn Gourvennec a little more.

In the last quarter of the match, huge spaces were left by Lille. Honorat missed the break with a badly negotiated counter then stumbling over Grbic. In the other direction, the pressure increased on Bizot’s goal, but the northern attackers were far too ineffective. Finally, the status quo was maintained until the end of a meeting which should only be due as there were great opportunities on both sides.

The score of the match: 6.5 / 10

A good match. And yet, the dismal lawn of the Pierre Mauroy stadium could have spoiled the show. Although not everything was perfect, the meeting was lively with great opportunities on both sides. In any case, we weren’t bored in the North.

The goals :

– Not attacked in his camp, Fonte sends a millimeter opening for David. The Canadian striker takes advantage of the catastrophic alignment of the Brest defense to infiltrate the area, where he eliminates two opponents from a dribble behind the supporting leg to adjust Bizot with a low strike with the left foot (1-0, 19th).

– Mouni gets a free kick 25 meters, slightly to the right. Faivre takes care of it and slides on the lawn. The ball touches the back of Xeka, who inadvertently deceives Grbic, beaten against the foot after having anticipated on his left (1-1, 32nd).

Man of the match: Marco Bizot (7/10)

Paradoxically, the Dutch goalkeeper did not have a lot to do. But his fabulous stop in front of Weah to avoid the 2-0 in the strong period of LOSC allowed Brest to stay in the game. His kicking game was appreciable with an incredible clearance that almost resulted in a Faivre goal in the second half.

Lille :

Ivo Grbic (6): decisive in the first moments by deflecting a free kick from Faivre, the Croatian goalkeeper is much less lucky on the second attempt of the Brest attacking midfielder since he is caught against a deflection from Xeka. He is nevertheless present to prevent Mouni from scoring after the break.

Mehmet elik (5): the Turkish right side has not yet entered his season. If defensively, he was rather at ease and made too little contribution, his offensive contribution was much too poor to corner the Brestois. A little better at the end of the match but it is generally average.

Jos Fonte (6.5): in a LOSC without much inspiration, the captain assumed his role by unlocking the part of a wonderful opening on the action of David’s goal. He made a decisive tackle late in the game to annihilate a dangerous action.

Tiago Djal (6): holder in the absence of Botman, the versatile Portuguese defender did the job. He did not hesitate to play hard to mark his territory against the Breton attackers. A little less well after the hour of play when his team played higher.

Reinildo (5): draft. The Mozambican left lateral was voluntary but contributed too little overall. Everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Replace the 77th minute with Gabriel Gudmundsson (not rated).

Timothy Weah (4): the American striker was in sight. But what a waste! The son of Mister George has absolutely everything in the Breton area. Opportunities the shovel, including the 2-0 ball that could have sealed the game after David’s goal. Terrible.

Benjamin Andr (5): medium. The midfielder passed through Rennes left big holes in his area, allowing the Brestois to pass far too easily. A new rather dull performance. Replace the 85th minute with Amadou Onana (not rated).

Xeka (5): a similar observation for the Portuguese midfielder, who had trouble adjusting the sights on its openings. He is unhappy on Faivre’s goal since he deflects his shot from a free kick into his own goal. Replace the 62nd minute with Renato Sanches (not rated), which brought movement during his entry.

Angel Gomes (3): another very poor match for the Manchester United player. Too shy and frail, he did not weigh at all in this meeting. Apart from his forward pass to Weah in the second half, we will not have seen him. Replace the 63rd minute with Jonathan Bamba (not rated).

Jonathan David (6.5): clearly the best Lille since the start of the season. His goal to open the brand is a real gem with a very appreciable technical ease. In the crowd, he offers caviar badly exploited by Yilmaz. He did not blush from his performance.

Burak Yilmaz (4): we do not recognize Yilmaz. If he is still as brawler, the Turkish striker has lost his technical accuracy by missing a big opportunity for the 2-0. Proof that he is not there, he came out headlong under a few whistles. Replace the 77th minute with Jonathan Ikon (not rated).

BREST :

Marco Bizot (7): read comment above.

Ronael Pierre-Gabriel (5.5): the right side passed through Monaco was not really jostled by Gomes. We can however regret his lack of boldness on the offensive plan.

Brendan Chardonnet (6): the Brest captain knew how to keep his nerves in the period of Lille domination by leaving the ball without trembling. His attitude has made his partners good.

Christopher Hrelle (4.5): the central defender passed by Nice is largely at fault on the opening of the scoring with a catastrophic alignment. He won a few duels afterwards but struggled to call on David and Weah’s breakthroughs. Replace the 71st minute with Lillian Brassier (not rated).

Jean-Kevin Duverne (5.5): a little more in difficulty than Pierre-Gabriel, the left side has at least the merit of having provided his support on the offensive plan. Barely correct.

Hugo Magnetti (6): a good match for the Brest midfielder. He played hard on the man to hamper Andr and Xeka in their willingness to distribute their offense. His role in recovery was important. Replace the 71st minute with Lucien Agoum (not rated).

Haris Belkebla (4,5): a rather poor meeting of the Algerian milieu, which did not really seek to support in the midfield to cast doubt on his Lille counterparts.

Franck Honorat (5): very great efforts made throughout the meeting by the winger passed ASSE. But his lack of efficiency in the last gesture was handicapping because there was room to do much better.

Romain Faivre (6.5): the attacking midfielder always responds. Close to scoring on a free kick in the first few moments, he even played half an hour on this exercise, not without a boost from Xeka. In the second period, he is not far from doubling on a class action. An interesting match.

Jrmy Le Douaron (6): preferred Cardona, the winger was rather restless in his lane. He was very interesting in his retention of the ball to allow his partners to play higher. Replace the 71st minute with Ivrin Cardona (not rated).

Steve Mouni (5): a very thankless match for the Benin striker, who was systematically sent to coal this evening. Even though he’s the one who gets the free kick that brings Faivre’s goal, he weighed too little in this game apart from one occasion after the break.
