Investigators seized a ton of cannabis earlier this week in the Paris region by dismantling a drug trafficking network, the Bobigny prosecutor’s office said on Saturday 23 October, confirming information from the Parisian. Twelve people were indicted.

Investigators from the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime and the Anti-Narcotics Office carried out a wave of arrests on Monday in Seine-Saint-Denis and Oise, as part of an investigation started in 2019, which saw the opening of a judicial investigation in Bobigny in July 2020.

This operation also enabled the seizure of a ton of cannabis, divided into two separate lots hidden in garage boxes located in Val-de-Marne. “It’s a very mobile team”, underlined the public prosecutor’s office of Bobigny. The crackdown resulted in the presentation to the examining magistrate and the indictment of twelve suspects, Thursday and Friday. All were remanded in custody.

The police discovered that this drug trafficking network mainly revolved around a city in the town of Bobigny but “the investigation is continuing because there are certainly other places where it could be sold, outside of Seine-Saint-Denis”, said the prosecution.
