The defender of the large crystal globe entered the second round from sixth place. In the second run, however, she showed a great performance, which was enough for her to place on the podium.

American Mikaela Shiffrin was looking forward to the victory in Austria, followed by the Swiss Lara Gutová-Behrami – the winner of the opening round.

Mauro Pini’s charge was 1.3 seconds behind the winner, losing 14 hundredths to second place.

The Slovak ski slope embarked on the second race vigorously and was well ahead of schedule in the first split.

Although it did not make significant errors in other sections either, it gradually lost its lead, even under the influence of diffused light and a deteriorating surface.

This was also confirmed in the races of the domestic co-Bavarians, and before the rides of the two sovereigns, the Slovak Republic had certain degrees of winners.

The two stars of the first round did not let go of their positions, they just exchanged them after a dramatic course, and Shiffrin celebrated a respectable jubilee.

At the age of 26, Vlhová peer still has a number of perspectives, such as the absolute record of the Swede Ingemar Stenmark (86 victories in the World Championships).

For Vlhová, third place means balancing the best career result from Sölden. She occupied the same position last year.

“Every time I get a podium, I’m really looking forward to it. Today was a fight, I didn’t feel good at all. I made mistakes on the slope that cost me time. At the finish, I didn’t even want to believe that I was the first, “she said in an interview for RTVS.

“We are experiencing different feelings than last year. It’s great in front of the fans. We also talked about it with Mikaela Shiffrin. I guess we are getting closer to better times, “she added.

The loss of the Slovak to the first two competitors was considerable. She was more than a second behind both.

“It’s hard to say if it’s just a fight between the three of us. There are more babies who can attack the podium. I have a lot of work to do. We didn’t know what we were up to. The race is also about fighting nerves, I managed it, we are looking forward and we continue, “said Vlhová.

Vlhová has already reached the 45th podium position in the SP races, of which she won 20 times. Shiffrin managed to do that on Saturday, 70 times in her career, and she is missing a dozen triumphs for the record compatriot Lindsey Vonn.

The next one will be presented on November 13 in Lech, where a parallel slalom will take place, ie a discipline in which Vlhová also belongs to the southernmost top.
