Nevertheless, many experts have stated that if vaccination is to be a motivation for people, the rules should also be set in black districts to favor those who are vaccinated. According to the currently valid COVID vending machine, they too must follow strict rules – for example, fitness centers, wellness centers are closed and, as far as restaurants are concerned, only window sales are allowed.

A consortium of experts met on Thursday, at which they agreed that, given the gravity of the situation and the low vaccination coverage, it is not yet appropriate to change the COVID machine in black to favor those who have been vaccinated.

Kollár: We can’t do it!

The mathematician Richard Kollár agrees with this view and fully respects it. “The only fundamental change I would suggest is the addition of confirmed obsolete cases to those vaccinated. Ie would not be a special category of vaccinations but with them also overcome (as in Austria, for example), “ he explained. As he added, in his opinion, achieving a 65 percent vaccination coverage for seniors over 50 is not impossible anywhere in Slovakia. As he explained, every district has a chance to achieve it. “And many have already achieved it, and others will achieve it soon. I keep my fingers crossed for them, they will help each other in all directions, “ assessed that we do not yet manage the epidemic situation in Slovakia.

Kulkovský: I don’t agree with that!

However, the head of the internal department of the Považská Bystrica hospital, Milan Kulkovský, has a completely different opinion. He said at the beginning of the week that he did not understand why fitness centers and restaurants should be closed to the vaccinated even in the black districts, when it was said that vaccination was freedom. He particularly criticizes the decision of the Council of Experts. “And the last one goes out… On the one hand, we naively thought that lotteries would convince people to be vaccinated. And she didn’t convince. On the other hand, we address the reluctance of citizens to vaccinate by punishing those who are responsible. It’s just like that. I am sorry,” he wrote, saying that we cannot always take into account only those who could not be vaccinated and did not do something for the good of the cause.

And thus restrict those who have done something for good. He added that each of them had the opportunity to decide freely, even with the consequences of the decision. “Most countries have already understood that. And we probably have some overgrown maco on the lead. It is true that the vaccinee is rewarded by being protected from the severe course of the infection. That’s awesome. But, unfortunately, that is not enough. I do not say that I agree with that, but I perceive it that way. ” stated. He explained that he understood all the arguments why the COVID machine could not be changed, but he was convinced that some concessions could have taken place. He pointed to the case of the visit of Pope Francis, where the conditions of participation in the Holy Mass in Šaštín literally changed during the march and until at first only the unvaccinated could attend, this condition was later abandoned.

“What convinces the undecided to get vaccinated? Remorse for the vaccinated because it is limited because of the unvaccinated? So hate? Or more freedom and open door operations? If someone was worried that by giving a helping hand to a group of vaccinated people and an entrepreneur, they would anger the other, smaller group, they were wrong. It angers many more citizens, “ pointed out Kulkovský, according to which this is exactly the goal of the set COVID automaton – to anger the groups. He pointed out that if an entrepreneur were in the service and vaccinated, he would ask people to be vaccinated and save him from bankruptcy.

“How is it now? I can have a gym, which is visited by hundreds of vaccinated young people, but I will have to close it for a few anti-system mudrlants from the surrounding villages who do not wear a veil, do not observe anything and even in the toughest lockdown will sit secretly as regulars in their favorite pub with beer… where is justice and reason?“ wrote Kulkovský. He concluded that although he respects the decision of the council, he does not identify with him, warning that we keep our hats after Dušičky, because he is sure that people will not respect the call of experts not to travel and stay at home during the holiday. 1. During the extended weekend, find time to stay in nature and stay only in the circle of the immediate family.

2. Travel to the Black and Burgundy Districts only when absolutely necessary.

3. If you have to travel, prefer individual transport and follow basic precautions – wear a veil or respirator, keep your distance from people outside your loved ones and observe hand hygiene.

4. Postpone meetings with extended family and friends until a more favorable epidemiological situation. Meetings with people at risk of severe Covid-19 disease are particularly risky, especially if they are not vaccinated. These are the elderly, people with chronic diseases and people with weakened immunity.

5. Avoid places with a high concentration of people – shopping malls, public transport, public events and meetings, including visits to graves on Saturdays and Sundays, where the risk of infection increases due to the expected onslaught.
