The Swedish music scene mourns. Late Thursday night, the well-known Swedish rapper Einar, who was extremely popular in the country, was shot dead in front of his apartment. He has won several prestigious awards, including Grammis, and was one of Sweden’s most played musicians on Spotify.

The well-known Swedish rapper Einar was shot dead in Stockholm late Thursday night. The police also informed the local media on Friday, which in connection with the case of the search for at least two suspects. On Thursday evening, shortly before eleven o’clock at night, he was shot several times in front of a residential house in the southern part of Stockholm. Rescued callers provided him with first aid, but he succumbed to the injuries on the spot.

Police said they were investigating the case as a murder. However, in accordance with the standard procedure, she did not publish the victim’s name. However, the Swedish media identified the shot as a rapper Einar, whose real name was Nils Kurt Erik Einar Grönberg.

Many of Einar’s songs refer to the world of crime and also mention drugs and weapons. The rapper, who was the son of Swedish actress Lena Nilsson, became friends with members of local gangs, according to the tabloid Expressen. He was also known for his public rifts with other Swedish rappers.

Einara was abducted, beaten, robbed and blackmailed in April 2020. The abduction was part of a large-scale criminal case involving more than 30 people accused of various crimes. The Swedish daily Aftonbladet stated that rappers have been threatened with death several times recently. He also reported that he was shot at close range on Thursday.

Einar himself was one of the suspects in the stabbing at a restaurant in central Stockholm, which took place this month.

In 2019, Einár broke through on the Swedish music scene with the song Katten i trakten, which subsequently dominated the Swedish charts. He has won several music awards in the country, including the Grammis Award.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven also commented on his death. “I know it meant a lot to many young people … It’s tragic, of course. It’s a young life that’s gone,” he told SVT television.

Sweden has seen an increase in organized crime crime in recent years. Gang shootings have recently taken place in cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
