Slovak skier Petra Vlhová entered the new season of the World Cup on Saturday with a sixth place after the first thirty of the giant slalom. In Sölden, Austria, after the 1st round, the Swiss Lara Gutová-Behrami led, the overall winner of the World Championships lost 81 hundredths of a second and with the number 17 she was pushed to the fifth position by the home Stephanie Brunnerová and with the 23rd Canadian Valerie Grenierová to the sixth. The second round was on the program from 13.15.

They started the race in optimal sunny conditions and on the track, which the American coach “found” for the clean and balanced style of his charge Mikaela Shiffrin. And the most successful racer of the number one epoch really set the competition parameters, she went without visible hesitation, while the following Italian rivals made mistakes and the winner of the small globe Marta Bassinová even dropped out.

Until Gut-Behrami, who also professes the purity of technology, went with Shiffrin for an almost identical ride on both splits, she had 2 hundredths on top at the finish.

Petra Vlhová she set off with a seven on overalls and made a mistake in crossing the steep part, which she corrected in a flash. She lost quite a lot, up to 25 hundredths, at the beginning, where she could not fully use her strength and aggression, she only partially succeeded in the second part of the slope. However, this was not enough for a continuous podium.
