A house fire in a settlement in Liptovský Mikuláš.
A huge tragedy in the settlement of Hlboká in Liptovský Mikuláš. Two small children died in a fire in a wooden hut. Behind everything is probably their mother’s negligence.
The fire broke out on Friday (October 22) shortly before 11:00 am, firefighters were on the scene within minutes. In the illegal wooden building, the fire started very quickly, the city police saw it on cameras.
It is said that children aged one and a half and five years remained inside. A two-and-a-half-year-old girl got out of a burning shack, whose life was saved by a young man from a settlement risking his own. He was immediately taken away by an ambulance, which coincidentally was in the settlement.
Rescuers treated an adult man with a severe reaction to stress on the spot and took him to the hospital. He was allegedly the father of the children.
After the rescued girl, a rescue helicopter later had to fly to Liptovský Mikuláš. He took him to the Košice Children’s Hospital. According to our information, in a very serious condition, it is connected to lung ventilation with burns on most of the body.
It is said that their mother and grandmother, who were at work at the time, lived with the children in a wooden building. Paramedics took care of the crushed mother. According to the people from the settlement, however, she left the children alone at home in this way quite often.
The fire was probably caused by an incorrectly mounted oven. The case is already being dealt with by the police. It will not provide further information until the end of the investigation.
The city’s crisis staff declared an emergency situation in the settlement and took measures to help parents and surviving family members from the burnt-out residence.
