The death of a chronically ill patient could be related to the vaccine – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. On Wednesday, October 20, the State Institute for Drug Control closed the fifth case of death in connection with vaccination for disease prevention COVID-19.

As the institute stated on its website, it was a man aged 71 with a chronic disease. He was vaccinated with Comirnaty vaccine from the Pfizer / BioNTech consortium.

The state institute explained that the cause of death determined by autopsy was related to the development of a disease of the nervous system. “Given the conclusions of the pathological-anatomical autopsy and the temporal relationship with vaccination, a causal relationship between vaccination and death was assessed as probable,” he said.

He added that if in the temporal context after vaccination death occurs, the Healthcare Authority will order an autopsy, the results of which provide primary evidence of the cause of death.

The State Institute for Drug Control in the case of reported deaths closely cooperates with the section of forensic medicine and pathological anatomy of the Office for Health Care Supervision.

As of Thursday, October 21, the institute in Slovakia registered a total of five deaths in the causal connection with vaccination, of which in three cases the connection was determined as possible and in two as probable.

In other closed cases, including some mediated cases, the connection was excluded.
