BRATISLAVA – Footballers of the Slovak champion Slovan Bratislava won the first victory in the F-group of the European Conference League 2021/2022. On Thursday, they defeated the Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar 2: 0. The home team decided to win in the second half, Andre Green opened the scoring in the 46th minute and Ezekiel Henty sealed the result in the 84th minute.

Slovan is in 3rd place in the table with four points after three rounds. The leader is the seven-point PAOK Thessaloniki, which won 2: 1 on FC Copenhagen. The second Danes have six points, Lincoln is the last with three losses.

The next match will be played by Slovan on November 4 at the Red Imps Stadium (6.45 pm). It will be the fourth mutual confrontation with this opponent this season, in August in the 3rd preliminary round of the European League the “whites” won 3: 1 in Gibraltar and in the retaliation they drew 1: 1.

Slovan started the onslaught, after a few seconds Medveděv pushed out Mráz for the defense of the guests, who shot the penalty area from the inside only into the goalkeeper. The home team pushed, but they could not come up with a better final pass. And they had to watch out for Lincoln, who knew how to handle difficult situations and combined solidly. 8 minutes into the game, Chovan had to leave the pitch due to a Lopesa shot. In the 14th minute Chovan inaccurately started, but corrected the mistake by an intervention. With 24 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 – 0 lead as Henty flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Slovan played quite professively and could pay for it in the 26th minute. Wiseman escaped on the wing, his centers were not captured by Chovan or Medvedev, and Britto did not hit the empty gate up close. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as 42 minutes into the match. The subsequent inaccurate arrival of Čavrič did not take place either.

Slovan also entered the second half under pressure and was already able to use it. Kankavov center from the left side went all the way to the opposite to Medvedev and he cleverly found Green finishing on the first pole – 1: 0. Henty fired in a few minutes, Mráz missed the ball in the fall. Still in the middle of the outsider, Green scored a very inaccurate 58 minutes into the match. With 70 minutes played, Henty nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. However, the Nigerian striker didn’t look like he was up to 84 minutes in the match, trying to get in touch with Slovan.
