The Office of the President of the Czech Republic has published the first shots of Miloš Zeman from the hospital – TVNOVINY.sk

The office of Czech President Miloš Zeman convened on Thursday (October 21) at 3 p.m. press conference.

The head of the office, Vratislav Mynář, spoke in response to attacks by the media and public officials. He has repeatedly stated that he cannot publish the state of health of President Miloš Zeman. It is a personal matter of the head of state who does not want to inform the public.

He opposes the allegation of manipulation or falsification of the President’s signature. Mynář stated that the president is visited daily by his family or his co-workers. As proof, he released a video recording at the briefing, in which the media and the public saw Miloš Zeman in the hospital for the first time.

The video is from last week from the visit of the head of the House Radek Vondráček to the hospital. Miloš Zeman signs an instrument convening the inaugural meeting of the new Chamber of Deputies.

Last week, Chancellor Mynář promised to refute alleged lies about the president’s health. However, this did not happen. The head of the castle office instead defended his actions, for which he had faced sharp criticism in recent days. In the meantime, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš called on him to resign.

The iDNES.cz portal informed on Thursday that Zeman and his closest collaborators face suspicion of leakage of secret information.

President Zeman has been hospitalized since October 10 at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. The President of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, who requested a report on the President’s state of health, stated that Castle Chancellor Mynář had known for a long time that Zeman was unable to perform his duties. Vystrčil further announced that due to the nature of the disease, the long-term prognosis of Zeman’s health is assessed as extremely uncertain.

However, the President’s Office has not yet specifically informed about the state of health of the head of state.

It also remains unclear whether and under what circumstances the traditional awarding of state awards will take place on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia on 28 October. There is a week left until the event and Prague Castle has still not announced what the traditional event will look like, the iRozhlas.cz portal informed. According to the incumbent Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the castle officials were supposed to talk to the hospitalized president on Thursday about the solemn ceremony.
