Italian lawmakers vote to ban all neo-fascist political parties

(CNN) – Italian lawmakers voted to dissolve a prominent far-right party, Forza Nuova, and all neo-fascist-inspired movements.

The vote on a motion tabled by the country’s center-left parties, calling on the government of Prime Minister Mario Draghi to adopt the ban, was approved this week in both the Senate and the lower house of Italy.

Draghi and his Council of Ministers will now consult legal experts before announcing a decision on whether to go ahead with the ban.
