15:56 – ŽILINA: University hospital with a polyclinic in Žilina set aside another covid zone in the bed unit of the Pavilion of the Long-Term Ill. Currently, the hospital already has 55 beds reprofiled. 41 of them are occupied this morning.

15:37 – PREMIERE: Before the Brussels summit, Eduard Heger reminded that the pandemic situation is serious in some EU countries, especially where vaccination rates are lower, as is the case in Slovakia.

15:09 – THIRD DOSE OF THE VACCINE: 6400 people have already been vaccinated with the third dose. The registration for the third dose for people over 55 will also start next Monday, but also for patients with chronic diseases or people at risk.

“When 80 percent of the risk group is vaccinated, then the vaccination will be opened to the general public,” said Alena Koščálová, a member of the expert council, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Geographical Medicine at the University Hospital Bratislava – Kramáre.

She stressed that if the invitation to the third dose is given to people who feel they should not go to it, they should contact their GPs. (TASR)

14:46 – UKRAINE: In the past 24 hours, 22,415 new cases of coronavirus infection have occurred, the highest since the beginning of the pandemic. They also registered a record daily number of deaths in the country on Thursday, 546. However, for the second day in a row, they also registered a record number of people who could be vaccinated in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 1,771 children and 345 health workers tested positive in Ukraine. The most new cases were recorded on Thursday in Zhytomyr (1562), Odessa (1528) and Lviv regions (1388).

In the capital Kiev, 1,192 new infections were added and 319 new cases were registered in the Transcarpathian region bordering Slovakia. (TASR)

14:38 – TRENČIANSKY KRAJ: Approximately 200 people are missing in the Trenčín district up to a 65 percent vaccination coverage of people over the age of 50. The Trenčín University Hospital informed about it on its website.

12:18 – TRENČÍN: On Wednesday (October 20), there were 89 patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease in hospitals in the Trenčín self-governing region (TSK). Compared to the previous week, their number increased by a fifth. Eleven of them were connected to artificial lung ventilation.

In the past week from 14 to 20 October, 1,023 people with a positive PCR test for the new coronavirus were added to the Trenčín self-governing region (TSK). Compared to the previous week, their number increased by 26 percent. (TASR)

11:35 – ŽILINA: In the inpatient part of the Treatment Center for the Long-Term Sick (LDCH) at the University Hospital with Polyclinic (FNsP) in Žilina, they have set up another zone for patients with COVID-19. 11:18 – SPUTNIK V: The European Medicines Agency (EMA) will decide whether to authorize use of the Russian anti – peptide vaccine Sputnik V, at the earliest in the first quarter of 2022. The developers of Sputnik V have still not provided all the necessary data.

10:42 – HUNGARY: In the last 24 hours, 2,361 new cases of new coronavirus infections have occurred in Hungary, and 20 patients have died from COVID-19. The number of hospitalized rose to 1105, 155 of them are connected to artificial lung ventilation.

10:31 – HUNGARY: In Hungary, the number of new coronavirus infections has increased one and a half times over the past week, with wastewater samples showing an increase in coronavirus particle concentrations, so it would be appropriate reintroduce the mandatory wearing of drapes in interiors. Rádió Ágnes Galgóczi from the National Health Center said this on Thursday on Kossuth public radio.

10:13 – HOSPITAL: The number of hospitalized patients with or suspected covid-19 disease is currently 1,052, of which 107 are in the ICU and 125 in the pulmonary ventilation.

10:11 – PCR TESTS: Of the positively tested persons from PCR tests, 69.42% unvaccinated.

10:07 – AG TESTS: 19,618 were performed yesterday Ag tests, of which 612 were positive.

10:00 – PCR TESTS:There were 3091 cases of coronavirus in Slovakia on Wednesday in 14273 PCR assays. They also record 11 new deaths.
