A council of experts advises people to have a veil outdoors if there are many people in the area. They also recommend traveling by individual transport. For example, they advise people to avoid crowded shopping malls, for example.

1. During the extended weekend, find time to stay in nature and stay only in the circle of the immediate family.

2. Travel to the Black and Burgundy Districts only when absolutely necessary.

3. If you have to travel, prefer individual transport and follow basic preventive measures – wear a veil or respirator, keep your distance from people outside your loved ones and observe hand hygiene.

4. Postpone meetings with extended family and friends until a more favorable epidemiological situation. Meetings with people at risk of severe Covid-19 disease are particularly risky, especially if they are not vaccinated. These are the elderly, people with chronic diseases and people with weakened immunity.

5. Avoid places with a high concentration of people – shopping malls, public transport, public events and meetings, including visits to graves on Saturdays and Sundays, where the risk of infection increases due to the expected onslaught.

The number of cases of coronavirus is growing

The number of cases of new coronavirus in Slovakia is still growing. There are 2750 more infected every day. The number of hospitalizations also increased. While 818 were hospitalized in connection with the coronavirus last week, this week there are 997. The number of ventilated patients also increased, from 88 to 125. The head of the Institute of Health Analyzes, Matej Mišík, informed about it on Thursday.

Ten districts avoided black

From Monday (October 25), there will be ten districts in Slovakia in black. In the second stage of threat, ie in the burgundy phase, there will be 30 districts. There will be 27 red districts, 12 orange ones. “As many as ten districts are in a lower color than they should be, thanks to the number of people vaccinated over the age of 50. This applies, for example, to Žilina, which would already be black,” described Mišík. He added that the highest incidence is among high school students, their parents and their close age groups.

From next week, the third dose vaccination will be opened for other groups

6400 people have already been vaccinated with the third dose. Also, from next Monday, registration for the third dose will be launched for people over 55, but also for patients with chronic diseases or people at risk. “When 80 percent of the risk group is vaccinated, then the vaccination will be open to the general public.” specified by Alena Koščálová, a member of the Board of Experts, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Geographical Medicine of the University Hospital Bratislava – Kramáre.

She stressed that if the invitation to the third dose is given to people who feel they should not go to it, they should contact their GPs.
