Jana Sošková, the founder of Prešov aesthetics, died at the age of 71, died. TASR was informed about this by Anna Polačková, a spokeswoman for the University of Prešov (PU) in Prešov.

“Her life was intrinsically connected with her work at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov, where she worked as a pedagogue, guarantor of the aesthetics department, vice-dean of the faculty and director of the Institute of Aesthetics and Artistic Culture,” says the staff of the Institute of Aesthetics and Artistic Culture

According to colleagues, Sošková (1950), who received the scientific-pedagogical degree of professor in 2004, “significantly” developed the discourse of the relationship between aesthetics and philosophy. She is the founder of the edition of Studia Aesthetica and the Society for Aesthetics in Slovakia.
