The forecasts are still being fulfilled

At the end of October, the head of the Ministry of Health, Vladimír Lengvarský, expects 2,500 to 3,500 positive people a day to test for the new coronavirus. According to him, the development so far copies the assumptions of the ministry. However, it seems that only October will not be bad, the peak will probably not come until November, and hospitals will not have peace even in December.

Last week, an average of 2,438 new cases of COVID-19 occurred each day. Hospital admissions were 736, up 52 more than the week before. The number of hospitalized increased by 22 percent to 966. “Hospital income is one hundred people a day, 82 percent are unvaccinated.” informed Minister Lengvarský.

Large regional differences

At first, it was assumed that the situation in Kysucie should be relatively calm. The reason was supposed to be high penetration, as they were the worst during the second wave. However, the opposite is true and the reason is the low vaccination rate. In the district of Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto, just over 36 percent are vaccinated. In the Tvrdošín district it is a bit better, a little over 39 percent are fully vaccinated.

This is also the reason for the occupancy of hospitals. “We are at 19 percent hospital occupancy, but we see big regional differences,” said the minister. He pointed to the hospital in Prešov, where 44 percent of the maximum capacity is full, while in Nitra only about seven percent. There are great regional differences here.

The situation has not improved in any district

The situation did not improve for the first time in any of the districts. On the contrary. The situation worsened in 19 districts – Banská Bystrica, Levoča, Lučenec, Martin, Medzilaborce, Michalovce, Nové Zámky, Poltár, Poprad, Prešov, Sabinov, Senec, Sobrance, Spišská Nová Ves, Stropkov, Topoľčany, Tvrdošín, Vranov nad Topľou and Žilina .

The epidemiological situation worsened the most, especially in schools and in the districts of Tvrdošín and Stará Ľubovňa.

Whether the COVID machine will be changed should be discussed by a council of experts today. However, the Minister does not want to interfere in which measures can be intervened and which cannot.

Measures in the black districts are badly set up, says the mayor of Kysuce

In the black districts, measures against COVID-19 are ill-conceived and ill-conceived. The mayor of Krásno nad Kysucou, Jozef Grapa, pointed this out, according to which the Kysučany people found out about it during two days in the Čadca district in black. Entrepreneurs pay extra for it
