ÚLK punished Trnava Spartak for rioting fans: Derby checked in favor of guests – Športky.sk

BRATISLAVA – The Presidium of the Union of League Clubs (ÚLK) reviewed the unfinished match of the 11th round of the highest Slovak football competition FC Spartak Trnava – ŠK Slovan Bratislava with a result of 0: 3.

The verdict was made at a briefing after Wednesday’s extraordinary meeting of the governing body of the Fortuna League, after which Slovan broke away from his rival at the top of the table by a difference of three points. Trnava is responsible for the unruly organization of Sunday’s hit, which the main referee Filip Glova had to end after less than a quarter of an hour after the fans of both teams entered the field of play.

The sporting rivalry of traditional opponents turned into skirmishes between hooligans, who broke into the lawn of the Anton Malatinský Stadium in Trnava and fought among themselves. The rioters left the field after about five minutes of fighting, after which one of them remained lying on the ground. After some time, pyrotechnics began to fly from the Bratislava Slavic sector to the western tribune. Subsequently, heavy police officers entered the guest supporters sector and pushed them out of the stadium. The game was further interrupted, the players were in the booths and the future of the match was discussed. The referee finally came to the pitch and showed that the duel would not continue.

The sports fate of the 161st derby of Trnava and Slovan was decided by the Presidium of the ÚLK, based on the evaluation of documents from delegated persons, referees, both clubs and the Regional Directorate of the Police Force. “I would like to apologize to all decent people, families and children in Slovakia for what happened on Sunday. We have had a severe blow like football and as a league, after which we had to draw consequences. As ÚLK, we reacted immediately on Sunday and they asked all the competent persons for their opinions or documents to evaluate the situation, which happened in Trnava, and then we organized an extraordinary Presidium of the ÚLK, which all but one of the clubs came to. we solved the sporting fate of the unfinished derby, the debate was fair and very good.The presidium came to the conclusion that the match Trnava – Slovan will be counted in favor of Slovan.We followed the competition rules, where the rules to be followed. it is possible to solve a prematurely terminated match by contumacy, ” said the president of ÚLK Ivan Kozák. The second alternative was to finish the match, but the ÚLK Presidium reached for a tougher penalty. Spartak Trnava may appeal against this decision.

The imposition of penalties in connection with organizational failures or towards the behavior of fans is at the Disciplinary Commission of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ). She will deal with the events from the derby at Thursday’s meeting, the verdict should be passed until next week.
