According to previous findings, the driver of a Citroen C3 car was heading from Moravian to the village of Rakovec nad Ondavou, while for reasons not yet identified, he drove the vehicle to the opposite part of the road. There, he collided head-on with an oncoming Fiat Ducato truck driven by a 63-year-old driver. After the crash, both vehicles were thrown off the road.
