Covid today Russia, new death record: 1,028 in 24 hours

Russia has again recorded a record in the number of deaths attributable to covid. In today’s bulletin, the task force appointed by the Moscow government to monitor the progress of the pandemic in the country, reports 1,028 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who fell ill with coronavirus and who died in Russia is thus updated to 226,353. Moreover, the record of daily cases, or 34,073 new infections, almost equaled. In an attempt to contain the spread of Covid-19, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova has proposed a one-week suspension from work starting October 30. The proposal has yet to be authorized by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, companies were asked to have at least one third of their employees work remotely. About 45 million Russians, or 32% of the country’s nearly 146 million inhabitants, are fully vaccinated.
