In a press release published Wednesday, October 20, the Defender of Rights expressed her concern about the possibility of extending the exit regime from the state of health emergency until July 31, 2022, “without any new parliamentary vote being expected for such a long period”. It also recommends the need to recall the prohibition on requesting an identity document in addition to the presentation of a health pass, considering that “the practices appearing to be variable despite the explicit decision of the Constitutional Council”.

While recognizing the importance of vaccination in the fight against the pandemic, the Defender of Rights also expressed concern about the choice of the executive to establish by decree the delisting of Covid-19 screening tests. “This decision profoundly changes the balance on which the device provided for by law was based and could be compared to a disguised vaccination obligation”, she denounced.
