This is also revealed in a new book about the queen of the Czech chanson, Carmen – The Real Life of Hana Hegerová. According to blesk.cz, its author Tomáš Padevět was with his beloved Carmen, as she was actually called, until the last days of her life. He also owned one of her last phone calls: “It’s hard for me to breathe through oxygen. The doctor says the treatment is more complicated with my heart. A few days before her death, Heger took a shocking step. “I have decided, fully aware that I do not wish to be revived here when my condition worsens.
