BRATISLAVA. Not even the two lie detector tests passed by Investigator Diana Santus of the police inspectorate convinced her superiors that she was telling the truth. They do not like the circumstances under which she did the tests.

Santus has been avoiding the detector since July and finally chose the institutions where she took the test. They pointed out that she passed two tests on Monday Hospodárske noviny.

Santusová first passed the polygraph on September 30, when she arranged for an examination with a certified polygraphologist herself. She did the second test on October 7 at the National Security Office. She chose her too.

“This is the first time in history that a member of the Police Force has passed a psychophysiological verification of truthfulness elsewhere than at the Criminalistics-Expertise Institute of the Presidium of the Police Force,” said Barbara Túrosová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior.

An examination on a lie detector has been requested from Santus since mid-July by her boss, the temporary head of the inspection, Peter Scholtz. Then he suspended her position as head of the so-called anti-inspection.

A verbal shootout between the inspectorate and Santus was launched at the time when the investigator wrote a letter to MPs or President Zuzana Caputova.

She claimed that some police investigators blindly trusted the penitents and resigned themselves to seeking further evidence.
