Zuzana Plačková and her husband René Strausz went on holiday to Dubai. Although many of their observers have wondered how it is possible that they are leaving the country with charges against them, this is not really a legal problem. Shortly after their detention, the specialized criminal court ruled that it saw no reason for detention, and the prosecutor himself later withdrew his complaint against this decision of the ŠTS.

The conclusion is therefore that the authorities involved in criminal proceedings do not see the danger that Plačková and her husband may frustrate the investigation or flee.

Since in the case of Plačková they did not even suggest replacing the binding with a bracelet or any other form of securing her movement, despite serious accusations, she can travel without any problems.

It is not yet clear whether they could drop the charge against her, even though the judge of ŠTS stated that he considered it unfounded, because the evidentiary situation against influenza and her husband is weak. Only one witness who has the information is allegedly testifying against them. Nor is the content of the classified annex to the file convincing Plačková and Strausz.

According to NAKA investigators, Zuzana Plačková and René Strausz were part of an organized criminal group of at least six people who operated in the Trnava, Bratislava and Trenčín regions.

In the period from 2012 to the present, some members allegedly imported cocaine into Slovakia and others distributed it. This follows from the resolution on the indictment, which spread to the media the day after the big NAKA event.

“René Strausz and his wife Zuzana Strausz Plačková were also important dealers – especially cocaine – who, since about 2017, have been buying cocaine from one of the members within the criminal group and selling it to other users,” the investigators claim that celebrities allegedly sold drugs to even lower-ranking gang dealers or end users. If guilty is admitted, they could face the highest penalty.
