The behavior of fans in the football derby between Spartak Trnava and Slovan Bratislava was also condemned by Ivan Husár, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic.

The hit of the 11th round of the Fortuna League did not finish on Sunday, the main referee Filip Glova ended it prematurely after a long break caused by the riots of the fans of both teams.

The Ministry of Education strongly opposes such behavior and condemns any form of violence or incitement to it. “I think that those who fought on the field do not go to football. They just go to kill. The risky match of the Fortuna League was unsuccessful in many respects. The organizers from Trnava underestimated it at least,” Husar said through a press release in response to the unfinished match.

At the same time, the Secretary of State assumes that heavy penalties will be imposed on sports and football itself. According to him, such behavior has hurt not only football and the football economy, but also the covid setting, as at present every spectator is rare in terms. “We call on the management of Slovak football to proceed very vigorously in this case. If supporters of foreign clubs were also involved, it is necessary to solve the case with international cooperation,” added Husár.
