Hyundai is rolling our market. Best for private individuals. Two models are to blame – Podkapotou.sk

After nine months of this year, Hyundai is a unit with a private clientele.

I’m not used to publishing car press releases. It’s usually not worth it and they are just shallow numbers without a deeper context, moreover, numbers are dramatically distorted by company data. But since we have had a new leader in sales to private individuals for some time, perhaps it is worth the information.

The Slovak importer of the Hyundai brand published sales statistics for the first nine months of 2021. During this period, Hyundai sold 6,172 new vehicles in Slovakia and achieved a market share of 9.53% (including fleets and entrepreneurs). While the entire market in Slovakia grew by 7.6% year-on-year in the first nine months, Hyundai increased its sales by 22% and strengthened its market share by 1.1 percentage points. At the end of September 2021, it was also Hyundai the best-selling brand of vehicles for private individuals. Individuals signed up for the sale of 2,989 vehicles and Hyundai thus achieved a market share of 16% for private clients. The sales success of the Hyundai brand was most significantly influenced by the i30 and Tucson models, which were also among the five best-selling models this year.

By the end of September 2021, 2,675 units of the i30 model line had been sold. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of more than 53%. The popular i30 is also the third best-selling vehicle in Slovakia this year and dominates the C1 segment with a share of over 26%.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car is also thriving. 14 of them have been driving on Slovak roads since August, but the importer already has another 40 binding orders. With these initial numbers, the car exceeded the expectations of the carmaker in our market.
