TRNAVA – The police are preparing for a risky match between the football clubs FC Spartak Trnava and ŠK Slovan Bratislava, which is scheduled for the Fortuna League on Sunday (October 17) starting at 5 pm in Trnava. Police measures take place throughout the day, said Mária Linkešová, the regional police spokeswoman in Trnava.

“To ensure public order, the commander of the measures in the streets of the city of Trnava set aside several dozen police officers, mainly from the services of the riot, traffic and criminal police. Special units, police officers from the department of cynology and hippology with horses will also be ready to intervene, and a water cannon will also be prepared in reserve, ” she stated. In order for the police to ensure public order, they must temporarily close Kollárova Street from 3 pm and after the end of the match at approximately 7 pm. Residents of Podjavorinská Street will be allowed to enter outside Kollárova Street. Security measures and related traffic restrictions will be adapted to the current operational situation and the closure time may therefore change. But already after the arrival of Slovan fans in Trnava, there were conflicts between “white fans” and the police.

Bratislava police warn citizens who plan to move on the premises of the Main Railway Station in Bratislava on Sunday (October 17) to take into account possible restrictions in connection with the transfer of fans of the ŠK football team Slovan Bratislava. The police inform about it on the social network. In the afternoon, fans will travel from the premises from the main station for a football match to Trnava by train (REX1725) with departure at 14.36. According to the police, the subsequent arrival of fans from Trnava after the match will be on the same day by train (OS3032) with an expected arrival of around 8.45 pm. “In this context, we ask citizens to respect the instructions or calls of the police and to be considerate of other citizens – thus helping to maintain public order in the capital,” police said.
