Retired beheaded in Agde: the main suspect indicted for “murder” – LCI

Three days after the discovery of the body of a septuagenarian, beheaded in her house in Agde (Hérault), the Béziers prosecutor unveiled the profile of the suspect. The latter, a former boxer who was an FN candidate for municipal elections in the North, suffers from “memory impairment”. He was indicted for “murder and theft from a home” and remanded in custody.

“The investigators found a large number of post-it notes in his house which he used as a reminder to remember what he had to do at each moment of the day (…). A detail revealed by the prosecutor: the wife of the suspect, from whom he was separated but remained close, is a former housekeeper of the victim. “He said he knew the victim well, that she was kind, and that he was familiar with her”, Raphaël Balland clarified.

Another element against the suspect, the DNA of the victim, who “was found in traces of blood on shoes seized during the search of the suspect, the same as those worn by individual in the videos.“The prosecutor also mentioned “shopping bags and food bags corresponding to the purchases made by the victim“which were found in the suspect’s home.

Aged 51 and separated from his wife for a year and a half, the suspect was a candidate in the 2014 municipal elections in Hautmont (North), under the Front National label.

The individual had been “excluded from the former FN on February 1, 2015 (without having been formally a member) following the completion of false Cerfa forms”, said Sébastien Chenu on Friday, from the federation of the National Northern Rally. And to add that “this individual was not unknown to the political landscape since he had appeared on the UMP list in Hautmont in 2008”.

In 2015, the alleged murderer was sentenced in the North to three months of suspended imprisonment and two years of deprivation of the right of eligibility for fraudulent declaration or false certificate, confirmed the prosecutor of Béziers.

On Wednesday evening, the body of a 77-year-old widowed teacher was discovered in her home, her head close to the body. It was his son who raised the alert, worrying about the victim’s lack of response to his phone calls, the prosecutor said.
