While the pandemic situation in Slovakia is deteriorating, the Nordic countries, as well as the Netherlands and Portugal, are repealing covid measures. Do you see the reason only in the low vaccination rate with us?
The main reason is really pure vaccination. However, there may still be an element of immersion. All the countries you mentioned have gone through a rather strong first wave of the pandemic. However, it did not even take place in Slovakia, because we closed the borders very early and introduced a lockdown. So we did not experience any infestation at a time when practically the whole of Western Europe was being defeated.

Czech experts estimate that immunity there reaches 90 percent due to vaccination and infertility. Do you have data on how many people can be overwhelmed by us?
That is not exactly what we cannot say. An estimate that could probably be closest to the truth is a study by the team of infectologist Pavel Jarčuška from May this year. At that time, the level of antibodies in the blood was determined in Košice. Based on this research, they concluded that about 23 percent of people overcame the covid. So we are certainly not as immersed as the rest of Europe, such as Madrid or London after the first wave. At the same time, we are less vaccinated.
