The savage battleship Landwehr surprised with a tactical approach. He held his hands unconventionally high, tying Klein in trouble instead of shootings. The first Slovak in the UFC had a good start, but after the nail in the middle of the 1st round he could not find the right distance. The cautious American attacked in the last 20 seconds, perhaps turning the bike to his side and gaining confidence.

Klein opened the second round with a high kick combination, but “Tank” quickly tied him up again. He dug his feet in the clinch in order to slow down the Slovak. In the second half of the round, the Landwehr caught a throttle called anaconda for the first time, and Klein escaped after half a minute. However, the opponent had the upper hand, with his knees mostly on his head in a Thai clove gradually destroying the New Zealander.

Klein only saved himself at the end of the 2nd round. He was running out of energy, his opponent disgusted the match. He had nothing to endanger the Landwehr and remained standing in front of him, as experts warned. When he did not get to the offensive, he tried a surprisingly takedown. Instead of a reversal, it was a sign of ruin. Klein was not in danger on the ground, on the contrary, the opponent grabbed the anaconda again and this time tightened it.

The hill of change did not benefit

Klein lost for the second time in a row after eight victories in four years. In the UFC he has a balance of 1-2, a total of 17-4. In another duel, he fights for staying in the most prestigious organization.

The Slovak, after the May defeat with Michael Trizan, announced the “hill of changes”. He started cooperating with strength and fitness trainer Miloslav Ceb and mental coach Radek Šefčík.

Klein admitted that he had suffered from overtraining in the last weeks of training before Trizan. He was guided by the motto “less is sometimes more”. He also made a mistake and before the match he did not return from the camp in Sanford MMA in Florida for less than a month to Slovakia. However, he did not benefit from the changes in preparation and approach.

Landwehr is a former champion of the prestigious Russian organization M-1, where he defended his title twice before the transfer. He entered the match with Klein with a balance of 1-2 in the UFC, in addition to winning the points, he received a knockout twice in the 1st round. He took over in the turning point and probably deserved a new contract. Overall, he has a record 15-4.
