Presidential 2022: Stéphane Le Foll will not campaign with Anne Hidalgo but “wishes him good cha – franceinfo

Stephane Le Foll announced this Friday, October 15 on France Bleu Maine that he would not campaign with Anne Hidalgo for the 2022 presidential election: “No, I will not join Anne Hidalgo (…) I wish her good luck for her campaign, said the mayor of Le Mans. I said very clearly about the differences I had. Now the activists have chosen. By the end of the year, I don’t have to interfere in this campaign and I don’t have to participate“.

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, was appointed candidate of the Socialist Party in the presidential election, gathering 72% of the votes of the militants. His opponent Stéphane Le Foll recalled on France Bleu his differences with the latter, in particular on the introduction of the 32 hours and the doubling of teachers’ salaries.

“Who renews ideas the most? Maybe it’s me, in the end”, he said. Stéphane Le Foll does not predict a very rosy future for the Socialist Party: “I am convinced that there will be a recomposition after the presidential election and the PS as it is today, cannot participate and be in this recomposition”, he estimated.
