Kazimir, who faces charges of corruption, has no plans to step down. This follows from Kažimír’s reaction to the words of the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, who stated that she would very seriously consider resigning in his situation.

The NBS governor considers the accusation to be unfair. He wants to clear his name. “This accusation is not directly related to the activities of the National Bank. I am working on complaints against the accusation. I have not committed any criminal offenses and I will continue to perform my duties as governor.” stressed Kazimir. “I feel and perceive this accusation as a huge injustice and I will do everything I can to clear my name and defend the institution I represent,” he remarked. He stated that he values ​​the values ​​represented by the President of the Slovak Republic and understands her position.

Čaputová announced on Wednesday that if she were in the situation of the NBS Governor and former Minister of Finance Kažimír, she would very seriously consider resigning from the position for protecting the name of the institution she now represents. She added that she respects the presumption of innocence and that the guilt must be decided by a court.
