MADRID – French footballer Lucas Hernandez faces imprisonment in Spain for failing to comply with a restraining order. Bayern Munich’s defender was scheduled to appear in court in Madrid on Tuesday to agree to a six-month prison sentence. He now has ten days to report to the Spanish authorities. His lawyers appealed against the court’s decision.
The former Atletica Madrid player was detained by the police in 2017 after an argument with his wife. Both subsequently received a court restraining order, but did not respect it. Hernandez was convicted of violation in 2019. Last week he was a substitute in the French national team for the final tournament of the League of Nations. The report was brought by the AP agency.
