An investigation to respond to the controversy. The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced, Wednesday, October 13, an investigation by the central public security department on the Montpellier police station (Hérault), accused by several testimonies of poorly welcoming victims of sexual violence. “We will draw all the consequences, but me, I am like everyone else, I only do it once I have clear and precise bases”, added the Minister.

He was questioned by the Law Commission on a demonstration held on Sunday in the city of Hérault. This police station has been singled out for two weeks by women victims of sexual assault who, on social networks, denounce the way they were received when filing a complaint against their attackers. Their words were relayed by feminist activist Anna Toumazoff who launched the hashtag #doublepeine, since taken over by hundreds of women, targeting police stations across France.
