It was similar in the current 16th year of the award.

The award for the best prose of the past year was finally won by Barbora Hrínová’s book debut entitled Unicorn (Aspect 2020).

The public learned the name of the winner at a ceremony on Tuesday, October 12.

“A strong, qualitatively balanced trio ended up in the shortlist. The selection of the laureate was decided by very fine details, especially the increased authorial sensitivity and the ability to strengthen – hopefully – the reader’s sensitivity,” the expert jury explains.
