KOŠICE. After a three-week steady decline in the number of students with the disease covid-19 the situation at primary schools (elementary schools) in the founding powers of the city of Košice began to deteriorate again.

The municipality informs about it on its website, stating that the number of quarantined students has increased to more than 600.

There were 380 of them a week ago.

21 students and four employees are infected

As stated by the head of the education department of the Košice City Hall, Beáta Lopušniaková, based on reports from all 34 primary schools, 21 infected pupils and four school employees are registered on Tuesday.

Since the beginning of this week, positively tested pupils and staff have been added to 11 city schools.

Park Angelinum Elementary School, Masarykova Elementary School, Janigova Elementary School and Bruselská Elementary School have the most new cases.

According to her, the disease occurs in 16 schools, which is almost half of all their primary schools.

There are 25 quarantined classes that students have had to transfer to online teaching.
