In two weeks, NDS will launch a new section of the Prešov – Športky bypass

NDS will start a new section with the tunnel in full operation in more than two weeks.

The section of the D1 motorway Prešov, west – Prešov, south with the Prešov Tunnel will be put into operation by the National Motorway Company (NDS) on 28 October. Highway workers informed about it on the social network.

“The tunnel is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Our tunnel operators will ensure that your passage through the section is smooth,” NDS said, testing and inspecting the tunnel. With a simulated fire, the highways checked the cooperation and actionability of operators, tunnel specialists and all components of the Integrated Rescue System.

Section D1 Prešov, west – Prešov, south is 7.87 kilometers long. According to the NDS website, the accepted contractual value without value added tax (VAT) is EUR 356,345,280.48. The project is co-financed by the European Union (EU).

The D1 motorway will form the “western” bypass of the city of Prešov and the R4 expressway will form the “northern” bypass of the city of Prešov. These roads are interconnected in the second built level crossing Prešov, west, while one of the functions is to transfer mainly transit traffic outside the inhabited area of ​​the city.
