Discussions on the state of health of President Miloš Zeman, who has been re-hospitalized since Sunday, are still ongoing in the Czech Republic. As CNN Prima News notes, the Czech public does not have much information about the president, apart from the hospital’s spokesperson announcing that his condition is stable.

However, according to Monday’s information, Zeman is hospitalized in the anesthetic and resuscitation department (ARO), which according to iDNES.cz means that the president’s condition is critical.

In an interview with the radio station Proglas on Monday, the spokesman of the president Jiří Ovčáček stated that they inform about the health condition of the president economically, but sufficiently. However, as the CNN Prima News website notes, Ovčáček now publishes mainly prayers on social networks.

“On the Holy Mountain this morning, I asked a benevolent God for a blessing for all those who pray for the President, think of him and wish him a speedy recovery, but also for those who curse the President,” Ovčáček wrote on social media on Monday.

He told Proglas on Monday that hospitalization “did not prevent Zeman from exercising his constitutional powers.” He added that the need for the president to participate in consultations on the formation of a new government is secondary at the moment.

Political communication expert Karel Komínek noted in the CNN Prima News broadcast that calls for prayers from the speaker may raise concerns in such a situation.

However, the castle claims that the president is able to perform his function, he allegedly requested, for example, media monitoring.
