The search began on Sunday

The search for the girl, who got lost during a family trip around Čerchov and Malinova hora, began on Sunday evening in the Czech and Bavarian sides of the border. Cherchov lies about two kilometers from the border with Germany. The police do not state the numbers of people involved in the search, originally talking about about 200 people on the Czech and German side of the border.

Julia, whose family comes from Berlin, was on a trip with her sibling, cousin and parents. She should have disappeared when the children played together. According to the German daily Tagesspiegel, the children were originally supposed to get lost together, but only two boys were found.

The search teams took turns several times. On Monday afternoon, all firefighters, police officers and other people involved in the action created an approximately 800-meter-thick dens, and thoroughly traversed the area again. The girl’s mother showed them in the field where the child had been lost.

They also searched for helicopters

The girl was looking for rescue teams of police officers from the riot, traffic police, intervention and riot units, students from the police school, professional and volunteer firefighters. On Monday, workers from the Šumava National Park and foresters of the Domažlice Municipal Forests, who have experience in moving in a forested landscape, also came to the rescue with equipment.

Czech and German helicopters took part in the search, as well as Czech and German cynologists with service dogs. On Monday, the police stated without further details that, in addition to an extensive search operation, police officers in the Czech Republic and Bavaria are checking other versions.
