There were more than 1,500 cases, the Prešov region is still significantly the worst – Korzár

EASTERN SLOVAKIA. On Monday, laboratories took 11,872 samples for PCR tests, of which 12.71 percent were positive, representing 1,509 people.

There were also 538 positive antigen tests out of the total number of 24,899 examined samples, which represents 2.16 percent.

Of the positives tested by PCR, almost 71 percent were unvaccinated, and of those who detected antigen tests, more than 74 percent.

In the past day, 17 victims of covid-19 were added to the statistics, a total of 12,752.

Situation in the regions

Of the regions, tests revealed the most infected ones again in Prešov (433), more than a hundred less in Žilina (323).

Slightly less infected were reported by Bratislavský (191), Banskobystrický (128), Košický (119), Trnavský (115) and Trenčín region (109).

Less than a hundred new cases were added in the Nitra Region alone (91).

Of the East Slovak districts, they reported the largest increase in cases in Prešov (142) and Bardejov (63).

They also detected new infections in the districts of Svidník (39), Košice (36), Humenné (35), Michalovce (31), Stará Ľubovňa (31), Vranov nad Topľou (31), Poprad (29) and Stropkov (29).

Under twenty new cases were recorded in the districts of Košice-okolie (19), Spišská Nová Ves (14), Sabinov (12), Trebišov (12) and Snina (11).

The single-digit increase was reported by the districts of Kežmarok (5), Sobrance (5), Levoča (3), Medzilaborce (3) and Gelnica (2).

The Rožňava district reported a zero increase.

Thus, 552 positive ones were added in the east.

Vaccination and the condition in hospitals

The number of hospitalized in hospitals increased by 70 last day.

Currently, there are 858 patients with confirmed or suspected covid, of which almost 83 percent are not fully vaccinated. Covid has been confirmed in 723 people.

There are 102 patients in the intensive care units, and 88 people need artificial lung ventilation. More than three quarters of them are not vaccination.

The first dose vaccines received another 1,257 people, from the beginning of vaccination it is already 2,471,274 people.

There were 1,655 fully vaccinated persons, a total of 2,349,947.
