The mayor of the Luník IX district, Marcel Šaňa, stated that the evacuated residents were provided with shelter overnight. “We accommodated them in the premises of the local office, went to relatives in the morning and waited to let them go home,” stated. Inspections continued in the apartment building in the afternoon to determine the extent of damage, especially to the roof. “We’ll see if it needs to be partially repaired or a whole new roof,” stated the mayor.

According to him, an estimated 40 people live in the apartments on the upper floors, and about 200 in the entire apartment building. “The crisis staff met in the morning and an emergency was declared, so we will do what is necessary to ensure that they get to the apartments as soon as possible.” said Šaňa. According to him, the injuries in the fire did not occur, the inhabitants managed to run out in time. To be sure, the night evacuation also affected the neighboring apartment building, but people could have returned to it.
