Elections in the Czech Republic are over: THE FIRST RESULTS IN THE WORLD, one party at the head – Topky.sk

Updated 16:04 According to the Vice-Chairman of the Mayors and MP Petr Gazdík, the cooperation between the STAN movement and the Pirates has proved its worth and the movement does not have to regret it. According to him, the purpose of this coalition was, above all, to succeed in attracting young people to the elections. He told reporters when he arrived at the election staff.

“The coalition with the Pirates had a deep meaning. We wanted to attract young people in particular to the elections. We wanted them to determine their future inside.” said Gazdík. “I admit that I was definitely skeptical at the beginning, but the coalition with the Pirates was nothing wrong. The cooperation with them is great and I’m looking forward to the post-election, he added.

In the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, after winning a third of the YES constituencies, they won 30.09 percent of the vote ahead of Total, which had 24.02 percent. Third were PirSTAN with 13.55 percent. Five groups would get into the Chamber of Deputies, according to the results on the website volby.cz. The CSSD government has 5.08 percent on an ongoing basis, and it would get into the Chamber of Deputies.

Updated 3:55 PM The SPD movement considers the law on the referendum to be the main condition for possible entry into the government with YES, which would allow a vote on the accession or retention of the Slovak Republic in the European Union. This was stated by the party’s deputy chairman Radim Fiala in the election staff in Prague’s Střížkov. He also reiterated that the SPD for program reasons precludes cooperation with the Pirates.

Fiala said that the movement would consider the result a better result than four years ago, when it won about 10.6 percent of the vote. According to the Czech Statistical Office, after counting about a third of the votes, it now has less than 11 percent. The vice president also said that after the election, the SPD would like to be in government so that it has the opportunity to push through as many points on its agenda as possible. In line with previous statements by representatives of the party, Fiala said again that he was excluding post-election cooperation with the Pirates. “Their program and our program are completely against each other,” stated. On the contrary, they see program penetrations with the YES movement, but the law on the national referendum was identified as the main condition for cooperation. “I can say on behalf of the SPD that we will not get out of this election program,” he said.

Another, although less important, condition, according to him, is that Andrej Babiš (ANO) should not be the prime minister in a possible government, who, according to Fiala, should first solve his current problems. The vice-president also said that he had so far considered that he would remain chairman of the SPD parliamentary group and that, in the movement’s view, experts should sit in the government. The headquarters of the movement are located in the Hotel Duo at the Střížkov metro station. Party Chairman Tomio Okamura should appear at the staff after 4 p.m. Journalists have a special room reserved for monitoring the results, they do not have access to the politicians’ hall.

Updated 3:49 PM Pirate President Ivan Bartoš still believes that the democratic opposition will succeed significantly in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies and will form a government. After adding up the results, the representatives of the coalition of Pirates and STAN will call together with the representatives of Spol (ODS, KDU-ČSL, TOP 09), he told reporters today at the staff in Prague.

After counting a quarter of the constituencies, YES was 30.12 percent of the vote ahead of Total, which had 23.89 percent. Pirates and Mayors were third with 13.45 percent. “I still believe that the democratic opposition will succeed significantly and that we will be able to form a future government,” said Bartos. According to him, the campaign was significantly different from the past. He described it as aggressive in terms of the disinformation scene, which according to him spoke the same language as Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) in official statements. “But it was better that we went in a coalition, that we could help each other. The energy in the contact campaign was also huge,” appreciated by Bartoš, who led the candidate in the Ústí Region, where he met Babiš.

According to Bartoš, the beginning of the campaign was lukewarm, but subsequently it succeeded. During personal meetings, people asked about specific things like rising in price or housing. The coalition of Pirates and STAN has not yet been in contact with the castle office regarding a possible post-election meeting with President Miloš Zeman. But according to him, this is the usual procedure. The president’s state of health has become one of the main media topics in recent days, due to speculation about his deterioration. The head of state voted on Friday in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies at the chateau in Lány in the Kladno region. For health reasons, Zeman canceled his participation in Sunday’s post-election debate on CNN Prima News. The president’s spokesman Jiří Ovčáček did not rule out postponing Sunday’s meeting with Babiš.
